So let's see, I just got home from the SHRM annual conference in Atlanta. It was so nice to get away from the daily life and go to this conference to get inspired, motivated and rejunivated. The conference was filled with great speakers, breakout sessions and entertainment. One of the best sessions I went to was on Enjoying the Ride. One of the main messages was to stop focusing on what's next and what happened but to really enjoy where you are. A lot of time it's so easy to forget to live in the moment and to cherish what you have because you just never know what is going to happen next. It helped that the "speaker man", Steve Gilliland was hystercial. He was more comedic in his delivery and I don't think I have ever laughed so much, well that was until I saw Jerry Seinfeld. Oh my goodness, he was too funny. He was just a great entertainment. Last year I saw Keith Urban, this year, Jerry Seinfeld, I just wonder what they will have next year. I already signed up for the conference next year, WOOT WOOT, it's in Chicago, so I have to go! I also got to hear Condeleezza Rice, Jim Collins, Tom Brokow and Malcolm Gladwell.
While in Atlanta, I went on the Coca Cola tour. That was pretty fun. At the end of the tour you got to taste as many of coke products as you wanted. I tasted a few of my favorites, Barq's Root Beer and Mr. Pibb, even tried a cherry Fanta and kiwi apple Fanta, not too bad, I also had the pleasure of tasting Tab. Well, I don't think pleasure is the right word. I wasn't even sure what it was, but some guy behind me said, Tab, OMG, I need my picture with that. So I thought it must be good. So I tired it, and all I can say is YUCK! OMG that was AWFUL!!!!
Also we were able to squeeze in the CNN tour. Our hotel was in the CNN headquarters, how cool is that. We got to see the studio and the news room. Pretty fun and cool.
I totally missed Kevin and the boys. While it was nice to be away, I was missing them like crazy. Kevin did a great job with them, he had one on one time with them, daddy dates as we call it and you could tell they had fun. So lucky to have Kevin in my life to support me and be okay with me going on a 4 day trip and have no problem taking care of our boys.
Other than that, we are getting ready for our Staycation in a couple of weeks. Kevin is on vaca so I decided to take it as well. And since we don't pay for daycare when we don't go, we decided to do a staycation and use some of the money for some activies during the day, a water park, children's museum, zoo and possibly the beach. We are looking forward to the 4th next week, I want to take the boys to the parade and possibly it up the festival.

Happy Birthday, John David!
Happy birthday, John David! Holy moly you are 2! This just can't be.... Someone needs to create a pause button, so we can pause on this special time! 2 years ago we welcomed you in the world 4 weeks early, you did so great, were only in the Special Care Nursery for a day to help with your eating issues, haaha, if they could only see you right now they would never believe that you needed help in the beginning. :-) We took you home as scheduled and my wonderful chaotic life of a mother of 2 started. Such a great baby you were, a go with the flow baby who spit up all the time. You were given the nick name Spit up Baby from your friends at daycare, that's okay, we gave them some nicknames too, remember Toe Jam! ;-)
You are my difficult child in terms of illnesses... pneumonia at 7 months with a lovely stay at Sherman Hospital, multiple ear infections, ring worm, tube surgery, hand foot mouth (I still feel bad) and pink eye, just to name a few ;-) With all of that, you taught me patience and I definitely got some extra cuddle time.
You love your mommy! And I am soaking it up as much as I can because I know that one day, while you will still love me, I won't be the center of your world and gasp, you probably won't want as many kisses as you want now. So, I will kiss you as many times as I can, and will hold you as much as I can while mentally putting these moments in a "memory box" so I can take out whenever I need it.
You want to be just like your brother. You are a great talker and I think having Austin talking to you helps you tremendously since you talk much more than what Austin did at your age. You are a puzzle wizard, only want lovely, gicket (blanket), and sometimes glow sea horse in your crib, if I put something else in there, you throw it out, you call milk wa, love applesauce, pancakes and bread, you see the airplanes in the sky before any of us and tell us, you are always are calling Aw tin (Austin) in the car as you want to show him everything you see, ool usses, airplanes, doggies, etc. you are becoming quite the little dare devil with climbing at the park, jumping off the couch, sometimes sit on the potty when Austin does, wants to open and close all of the doors, including the garage door, loves letting Buster out and telling him to get busy, cleaning, oh my gosh, John David, you love to clean! You use grandma's duster, the broom, you have your own vacuum and you just go to town, throwing, we are trying to limit to the balls but you will throw everything and you have quite the arm! I think daddy is super excited as we think you will be our sports star!
You are amazing, John David, you are so loving and full of energy!

Happy Birthday, Austin
Happy birthday to my little man, Austin! I can't believe you are 3 years old! Seriously, where does the time go? People tell you that it goes by fast, and while, I was sure they were right, I just didn't understand it, until now, as I look back and wonder where the time went. It seems like yesterday that we came home from the hospital, rocked you in the glider, woke up every 3 hours (or so) and swayed you through those witching hours. I remember when you were learning to roll over, crawling, taking your first steps and now look where you are, talking in sentences, telling me what you wants, trying to go on the potty and just acting like a little boy.
Where Austin is today.
In these past 3 years, he has grown so much. It's just amazing. He is a master at puzzles, he loves cars and has a back pack filled with them, he loves movies, and TV (Einsteins, Dinosaur Train, Arthur, Handy Manny), has 6 blankets on him at bed time (in a specific order) along with at least 10 stuffed animals and other little things in his bed, must have multiple hugs and kisses before bed and when you leave, tells the sprinkler that he will get him (even though the sprinkler will win every time), loves pancakes, applesauce, hot dogs, CAAAKE, he loves to jump (on and off everything), he loves exploring at the park and grabs as many sticks as possible, points out all trucks, school buses and airplanes, he loves dinosaurs and dinosaur shirts (I think he would wear one everyday, if I let him), he loves stickers and is pretty sticker motivated, he must do everything first and I often hear, "I do it" he must have his boo boo's kissed, loves to watch videos on the computer with grandmom, and a lot of the times asks to go to either the park or grandpa's house when I pick him up from school, he loves hanging out with daddy and helping him, when we are in the car and driving home, we must drive by the lion statues so he can ROAR at them (good thing we have 4 different lion statues nearby our house, he is a crazy little guy with the biggest heart and soft spot.
I just can't imagine my world without Austin! He sure makes life fun and it's great reliving childhood experiences. Just the other day, we were at the park and some boys were playing tag, but they needed to see who was going to be it, so they did "bubble gum" (bubble gum, bubble gum in a dish, how many pieces do you wish (5) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, (out). It's great hearing these things that bring me back to my childhood.
Being a mom is wonderful especially since I have the 2 most amazing kids out there!
